Douglas Remaley & Max

Captain Douglas M. Remaley is an Investigator/Bomb Technician with the Annapolis Fire Marshal's Office. His K-9 partner Max is a three year old German Shepard trained by Southern Hills Kennels In Daytona Beach, Florida. They are certified by the American Detection K9 Association.

K-9 Max has been in service as an explosive detection K-9 since November 2002. The funding for this Explosive Detection Canine Team was made possible through a joint partnership between the City of Annapolis and the United States Naval Academy. The Naval Academy provided the funding for K-9 Max and his explosive detection K-9 training while the City agreed to provide a handler for the team. The Annapolis Fire Marshal's Office provides primary explosive detection canine coverage for the Naval Academy.

Captain Remaley has been assigned to the Annapolis Fire Marshal's Office since 1993. Captain Remaley is a Certified Fire Investigator, Bomb Technician, Post-Blast Investigator, Haz-Mat Technician, Emergency Services Instructor and Fire Inspector. Captain Remaley has been a member of the Annapolis Fire Department since 1986.
